Donna will demo “Negative Painting,” which is painting around a subject to create it. As you paint the background and define your subject, the transparent watercolor layers create beautiful effects. Donna’s presentation will be followed by a “Community Paint.” Bring your paints and either try out negative painting or bring your own project to work on. Painting is fun in a group, and Mary will be available to answer your questions.

Beginners only; limit of ten students 

• Mary will lead beginners through the basics of watercolor to create a finished painting. 

• The Library will supply all necessary materials.

 Diane will talk about gouache watercolor – an opaque type of watercolor. Following her demo, there will be a Community Paint. Sample gouache will be available so you can try what you’ve learned – or bring your own watercolors for the Community Paint following Diane’s presentation. Mary will be available for guidance or questions.
